What You SHOULD Be Listening Tp Pt.1

The top selling album of the year, is "High School Musical" (3.7 million copies). The rest of the top five consists of Rascal Flatts, Carrie Underwood, Nickelback, and Justin Timberlake. Every year manufactured crap and just plain shitty music seem to dominate the charts and airwaves. Many of us who listen to awe insiring, life changing, actually heartfelt, music, try to rail against the hypocrisies and injustices of the "popular" music scene.
Well besides spewing hate and venom at deserving fraudulent "artists," and shape shifting evil incarnate record companies, the Imperious Opinion blog vows to give examples and recommendations for truly pleasing sonic sustenance.
Raul Malo "You're Only Lonely" Our generation's answer to Roy Orbision, shows his brilliant octave range on this classic ballad of heartbreak. The former front man for country group, The Mavericks, has his second solo album, is in stores now.
MC Chris "White Kids Love Hip Hop" Most people don't know the hilarious underground stylings of the five foot, fade assed, soundwave tsunami, that is MC Chris. New album, "Dungeon Master Of Ceremonies."
Stretch Arm Strong "Faces" A "real" punk song from a "real" punk band, about growing up, and the pains of growing apart.
Hatbreed "I Will Be Heard" The new kings of metal (since the death of Pantera) provide uplifting lyrics for positive change on one of their hardest, and best tracks. Their new album, "Supremecy," is available now.
Tom Petty "Saving Grace" The legend still rocks on this track, while taking us on a long ride through a battered past.
The Mars Volta "Viscera Eyes" At just under ten minutes, most people's attention spans will not allow them to finish the whole song. Beginning in Spanish, and ending in English, while exploring their third eye, this experimental band puts together one of the most original songs of 2006.
Johnny Cash "God's Gonna Cut You Down" My favorite new track, from the "man in black's" final album. Great marching beat brings destiny to all.
Outkast "The Train" Those who didn't listen to the last Outkast album, because it was from a movie soundtrack (Idlewild Blues), missed this great song. Funky groove, harmony, and some of the best rap out there today.
Nonpoint "Bullet With A Name" Just a kick ass rock song!
Francis Dunnery "Good Life" Brutally honest song, yet, one of the most beautiful, and uplifting songs you'll ever hear.
There ya go. Ten great songs you can download on iTunes for only $0.99 Or steal them from Limewire orSoul Seek like a normal little pirate, and enjoy the sonic seizure. It could, change your life (or at least give you something new to listen to).
