Local H 12 Angry Month's 2008's Best Overlooked Album

Local H is an American rock band, formed by Scott Lucas (lead vocals, guitar, bass) and Joe Daniels (drums) in Zion, Illinois in 1987. In 1999, drummer Brian St. Clair joined the duo to replace Daniels bringing his extensive critical acclaim on the skins. Though scoring a "gold album" and the hit song "Bound For The Floor" were their commercial peak, the Chicago Tribune named the band it's 2008 Chicago band of the year, calling them "as good a rock band as any to call Chicago home in the last decade." Their sixth studio album, 12 Angry Months, was released on May 13, 2008 on the Shout! Factory label. The album is a concept piece about the different emotions felt for the 12 months after the end of a romantic relationship. You might say the perfect breakup/divorce CD.

Some of the best work and dare I say it, the best album Local H has done to date! Their cult hero status still intact, songs like "White Belt Boys," "The Summer Of Boats," and "Simple Pleas" really invoke that feeling of pain, loss, and fear that comes when a relationship ends, and you must continue on your own. The best overlooked album of 2008, it deserves your attention and a genuine listen.
