MIKE PATTON, Genius, Renaissance Man, Pioneer

Do you know Mike Patton? The irrevocable answer is always no. Nobody knows Mike Patton, the mind, the man, the genius. A vocal pioneer and experimental chap, General Patton has created music of a unparagoned nature. Fronting or contributing to such music from Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, Tomahawk, Fantomas, Peeping Tom, Lovage, and working with Bjork, The Melvins, Sepultura, Rahzel, Boo-Yaa Tribe, Isis, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Handsome Boy Modeling School, X-Cutioners, and Serj Tankian. Not to mention various solo projects requiring crooning, falsetto, death growls, rapping, chanting, mouth music, beatboxing and scatting, among other techniques. Critic Greg Prato writes, "Patton could very well be one of the most versatile and talented singers in rock music." He would be right on the money. The man also produces, composes movie soundtracks, and does voice overs for video games as well as movies such as "I Am Legend." The cat can simply do anything including performing opera's and bring the suave sophistication the teems from his alter ego Mondo Cane. Genius, hardly seems the right word for this constant archetype of the renaissance man who knows no boundaries.
