Who watches the Watchmen? The tag ling from the DC Comics mega-movie begs the question as the movie has seen dismal sales and bad reviews. I watched the Watchmen and it is the best super-hero/fantasy movie ever made! Clocking in at nearly 3 hours, the movie does the comic book right staying very close to the colored panels that spawned the film, but flies by without every getting slow or remotely boring. The movie is absolutely beautiful and the story as superb as when Alan Moore 1st wrote it in 1986. This is just not a super-hero movie for kids, with nudity, violence, and moral dilemmas children cannot comprehend, leaving the film to an audience of adults that are not bright enough to follow the well crafted plot and integral characters back story's.
Despite the idiot public not being able to handle a more real yet surreal movie with a mature subject matter and mirroring the recent events and tragedies in our own history (I'll leave you to fill in the lines), it is simply a brilliant movie that did not compromise, much like Rorschach, thus not appealing to mass audience. If you didn't "get it" I advise you to read the trade paperback and watch the film again. If you did understand the movie, you loved it and it is now, "a stronger world, a stronger loving world to die in."
