The Gin Blossoms did it, Toadies are doing it, Alice In Chains are going to do it soon, so why not RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE! Yes, finally, Rage Against The Machine are getting back together to headline the Coachella Festival, and then a growing number of tour dates. For the first time since 2000, the legendary political hard rock super-group, will play together on April 29th! Rage played the inaugural Coachella show in 1999, and now with Audioslave breaking up (Chris Cornell, Audioslave's lead singer, looking instead to a solo career), lead to the opportunity for RATM to reunite.
Tom Morello (guitarist for Audioslave & Rage Against the Machine) said the reunion is driven in part by politics, and a desire by him and his compatriots, to rally young people against President Bush, the war in Iraq, and the Republican party.
Morello will also be launching a solo album and tour under the name the Nightwatchman for his acoustic protest music, due out April 24th.
Rage Against the Machine has announced 4 confirmed tour dates (all sold out), and we can hope and pray for a new studio album. One of the greatest rock bands of any generation will hopefully stay together for a long time to come!
