KiD CuDi “Soundtrack 2 My Life” Scott Mescudi took the world by storm in 2009 and the future is very bright for this Hip Hop artist with a odd style reminiscent of Gnarls Barkley. The album sports about 5 good tracks total, but I'm guessing his next effort will blow this one away as he grows. "I've got some issues that nobody can see. LIVING LEGENDS “She Wants Me” Having only recently finding out the extent of Slug and his groups Atmosphere and Felt, I came across his own record label Rhymesayers where this All-Star team delivers a hilarious rap about a gorgeous groupie. HIP HOP
DANIEL LANOIS “Here Is What It Is” The heralded producer takes time to put out another album with this warning track about living with depression. Folk
K’NAAN “Take A Minute” "Any man who knows a damn thing knows he knows not a damn damn thing at all." It is true and K'Naan is super talented with slick flows and insightful lyrics and entrapping melodies. Now just take a minute and let the song breathe. HIP HOP
STAR ANNA & THE LAUGHING DOGS “Through Winter” A country break up song about the blame and how it helps and yet changes nothing. COUNTRY

COCONUT RECORDS “Wires” Simple, brilliant, and catchy is how I would describe the track from the movie "Funny People" and actor Jason Schwartzman's solo music which is a band not a label as the name sounds. POP

LAURA MARLING “New Romantic” This morbid little lady just strikes my heart strings with unconventional love ballads like this one. Her voice is so soft and lilting you forgive her for being such a bitch to the poor fella. Plus I think she might actually also be Dakota Fanning. POP
BROKEN BELLS “The High Road” The frontman from the Shins teams with Danger Mouse takes James Mercer's sound to a whole new level. Looking forward to getting the whole album soon. ROCK
SURFER BLOOD "Floating Vibes" A kinda sorta modern attempt at the Beach Boys "Pet Sounds" actually works as they tell the ladies what is really up in life and its gnarly waves. ROCK
THROWDOWN “This Continuum” Straight edge people tend to piss me off instantly but this hard charging band is back to save their reputation with an expanding sound that still kicks your ass. METAL
DAWES “When You Call My Name” It may sound like a standard country song but damned if I can't stop singing it. Just listen. COUNTRY
