LOST: The Truth Revealed

After finishing the 2nd highly successful season of ABC's LOST, I have finally figured out the answers to what exactly, is going on with this island. There have been many theories out there ever since the show began.
  • Purgatory-The passengers of Oceanic Flight 815 died in the crash and the island is a middle ground between heaven and hell, where these characters have landed and must face the decisions in their lives that have led them here.
  • Hallucination-This theory states that everyone on the island is a part of one characters brain creating an alternate universe, i.e. the movie Identity.
  • Mad Scientists-These evil caretakers are experimenting on the island dwellers and messing with their minds.
  • Humanity Saving Clones-This is one of my favorites. The characters on the island are all clones of their former selves, pushing them to the limits to gage their responses in some desperate hope they can use them to save humanity from whatever ill is destroying it outside of the island.
  • Bermuda Triangle-The fabled area where everything gets "Lost" is run by aliens or what have you, who are experimenting with the natural forces at work there.

Unfortunately, these theories however interesting, are all wrong. The truth of the matter is, now brace yourselves, this could be tough to hear, is........you, the TV viewer are the experiment!! Stay with me on this. The series was an accidental hit. Nobody knew the shows popularity would explode the way it has, and the shows writers and producers were caught off guard. As the series grew and people figured out the original plot, posting them on blogs or whatever, the geniuses behind the scenes came to a decision. They had to change the story to keep it going and the viewers guessing. After all, there is advertising money to be made.

So back to the original idea of, "you the TV viewer, are the experiment." The TV execs decided to drag the show out and have the people at home, "push the button." They keep you guessing with looping storylines that get more and more complicated without ever really solving anything. In a sense, you the viewer, are John Lock, scared to stop watching, or you might miss the amazing ending. It is a trick. They don't know where they are going now, making it up as they go along. In the meantime, they are making money, and you are "pushing the button."

Well, no more. I'm out. When it ends, probably in 10 years, someone can tell me the grand ending to the story. The fact will remain, the ending was rewritten to keep the audience glued to the tube, and setting the example for the next, TV experiment.-Imperious Opinion
